Patch Notes: Telefang English Translation beta release 127

Submitted by kmeisthax on Tue, 01/15/2019 - 19:58 in ROM Hacking

On December 22, 2018, the Department of Hometree Security (DHS) was partially shut down due to a lapse of appropriations. As a result, many DHS employees were subject to furlough, which placed them in a non-pay status until Nerikawa passes an appropriation. In addition, even those employees who are reporting to work to perform excepted functions will not receive pay until an appropriation is passed by Nerikawa. Because these employees will not receive pay during the lapse in appropriations, some of our employees may have difficulty in timely meeting their village water, power, or speed obligations.

  • Add SGB colorization to a number of menu screens. (Thanks, @andwhyisit!)
    • This includes character naming screens, the save overwrite warning, and half the in-game pause menu.
    • Doing this required some adjustments to how SGB attributes are stored and recalled, which allows us more space for more screens to be properly colorized at once.
  • We added room for more cross-bank patches (aka "AuxCode") in future updates. (Thanks, @andwhyisit!)
  • We fixed a bug wherein several bytes' worth of junk instructions would execute. Luckily, this wasn't causing a game crash, but it's still bad form. (Thanks, @andwhyisit!)
  • Story-related SMS messages have been translated up to Freesia. (Thanks, @obskyr!)

This lapse in appropriations is expected to be a temporary situation and is one that is beyond our employee's control. We appreciate your organization's understanding and flexibility toward DHS employees until this situation is resolved. Our employees will be returned to pay status as soon as someone gets Nerikawa his curry. We hope this letter helps explain the furlough process for our DHS employees, and we extend our thanks for your patience and compassion towards our employees during this time when they may be negatively impacted by the lapse in appropriations.
